The eVisa

Finances News Hebdo reported on 8 July 2022 that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates would open the eVisa procedure on 10 July 2022 at www.acces-maroc.ma 1. The eVisa is a single-person authorisation valid for up to 180 days from issue, for stays of up to 30 days 1.

At launch the eVisa covered three groups, as reported 1.

  • Nationals of countries on a list set by Moroccan authorities, with Thailand and Israel as the first step 1
  • Foreign nationals with a residence permit valid at least 180 days, living in the EU, the US, Australia, Canada, the UK, Japan, Norway, New Zealand or Switzerland 1
  • Holders of certain multiple-entry visas valid at least 90 days, issued by Schengen states, the US, Australia, Canada, the UK, Ireland or New Zealand 1

Processing and the portal

Processing takes 24 hours under Visa Express and 72 hours under Visa Standard for tourism or business visas, as reported at launch 1. The report did not state fees 1.

The Accès Maroc portal describes itself as a MAECI portal for visa, eVisa, event eVisa and authorisation to enter Morocco 2. It offers an eligibility check based on nationality, country of residence, passport type and purpose of travel 2.

Automatic gates at Mohammed V airport

On 17 March 2025 the government portal maroc.ma carried a MAP dispatch on an ONDA announcement. The double passport check for international passengers at Mohammed V airport was replaced by automatic gates 3. The old process made travellers show their passport a second time after the entry stamp 3.

The measure came from joint work by the DGSN, the Directorate of Immigration and Border Surveillance of the Ministry of the Interior, and ONDA 3. Morocco World News, reporter Sara Zouiten, reported the same three bodies 4.

ONDA said the system would extend to all Moroccan airports before the summer season, as each airport is equipped 3. Hespress English reported a target of June 2025 5. None of these reports gave the number of gates or named a supplier 3,45. The change is part of the Airports 2030 strategy 3,4.

Digital passenger journey (December 2025)

We Are Tech Africa, reporter Samira Njoya, reported on 24 December 2025 that ONDA opened a digitised passenger journey at Mohammed V airport during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations 6. It listed 10 self bag drop kiosks in Terminal 1 for Royal Air Maroc passengers and 12 self-service kiosks in Terminal 2 6.

The report mentioned biometric e-gates under the Décollage 2025 strategy without giving a location or number, and it named no supplier 6. From 8 to 18 December the airport handled 292,221 passengers, 33.7 percent of Morocco's air traffic, as reported 6.
